After lunch, visit the Jade Emperor Pagoda, also known as the ‘Pink Pagoda’. This historic Chinese Buddhist temple provides a peaceful oasis amid the energy of the city. Continue to Notre Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Central Post Office, two of Ho Chi Minh City’s most recognisable landmarks, both dating from the French colonial period.
Conclude the city tour at the Rex Hotel Rooftop Bar, a relaxing venue with a fascinating wartime history. During the Vietnam War, the Rex was a popular meeting place for American military officials, foreign correspondents and intelligence personnel. Your informative tour will reveal how this subterranean community functioned, with recreated areas showing meeting rooms, workshops, kitchens and sleeping quarters.
